⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ World on a String Written by Larry Phifer and Illustrated by Danny Popovici

I absolutely LOVE this library find!!!! Writer Larry Phifer and illustrator Danny Popovici created a beautiful book called World on a String (2013, Storytime Works).

Charlie is a little boy who finds a red balloon. They do everything together. They are best friends. He even takes the red balloon to school. But one day a storm comes, and the red balloon flies away. Forever. Slowly, Charlie realizes that his balloon used to shine beautifully, so he looks up. He sees several balloons, which are now the stars.

A beautiful book about friendship but can also be used to help younger kids who are going through the loss of an animal or family member, World on a String has a poetic quality that is only complemented by Popovici’s oil paintings. The large size of the book matches the expansiveness of the balloon’s journey.

Earning five stars, World on a String should definitely be on your library shelf! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
